Bachelor of Business Management, Course Overview: Subjects, Projects, and Specializations

The Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) is an undergraduate program offered by Tribhuvan University(TU) and Kathmandu University(KU), with TU being the primary one among the two. 

The course duration of the course is four years-split into eight semesters, during which, as a BBM student, you will learn general management, marketing, accounting, finance, human resource management, and entrepreneurship. 

You can also specialize in bank operations, sales and marketing, insurance, and entrepreneurship development. 

Eligibility 

To be able to study the BBM course, you have to meet the following requirements: 

  • Completed 10+2 with a minimum CGPA of 1.8 or a grade of D+ in every subject or second division. 
  • Passed the CMAT entrance examination conducted by TU.

Course Overview 

Since BBM is a course that focuses on the management aspect of business, the course is built on business tools and business foundation courses, along with specialized focus area subjects and elective options. 

You are also required to complete an internship and/or a final year project in order to complete the program.

Specializations 

As a BBM student, you have the option to specialize in one of the four major areas based on the focus area you choose: Bank Operations and Cooperative Management, Sales and Marketing, Insurance and Risk Management, and Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development. 

For each focus area, you have to take five subjects. 

1. Bank Operations and Cooperative Management 

This focus area is concerned with the structure, functioning, and management of banks, cooperatives, and financial markets.

If you are analytical, detail-oriented, and interested in building a career in banking, finance, or cooperative development, you should pursue this focus area.
