Preparation Tips

The thought of having to give an entrance exam can be intimidating, but you are not alone in this journey.

You might find these tips helpful in the preparation process.

1. Collect the study materials.

The right preparation books will make your journey a lot easier.

Entrance Preparation Books offer a more focused and structured approach to studying with concise and exam-oriented explanations of topics.

They also include solved examples, MCQs, and practice tests to help you test yourself.

Saral Shikshya BSc. CSIT Entrance Preparation Book, Binary CSIT Entrance Preparation Book, Patan CS community CSIT Entrance Preparation Book, and Code for Change CSIT Entrance Preparation Book are some of the best books available in the market.

2. Join Entrance Preparation Classes

It is highly recommended that you join an entrance preparation class for the BSc. CSIT entrance exam can lean more on the tougher side.

Various institutions conduct entrance preparation classes that are led by experienced educators and provide students with a structured learning approach along with other resources such as preparation books, notes, mock tests, and more.

3. Curate a study schedule.

Routines provide structure and discipline. One of the most crucial factors to doing well in exams is self-discipline and holding yourself accountable.

Based on what works for you, curate a study schedule and stick to it. Be sure to get a minimum of 3-4 hours of study each day.

4. Keep Track

Be sure to track how much progress you have made.

Also, make sure to keep track of the topics you struggle with and the ones you are quite confident in.

Allocate more time to the subjects and topics you struggle with, but also do not neglect the topics you don’t struggle with as much.

5. Focus on understanding the core concepts.

The questions asked in entrance exams, unlike regular exams, are more concept-based and require you to have a clearer and analytical view of the topics.

Take your time to understand the fundamentals rather than rote learning.

Make sure you pay attention and do not rush while solving problems.

6. Time Management

Time management, whether it be during the exam or while preparing for the exam, is very important.

While preparing for the exam, be sure to allocate time to each subject based on the importance of the subject and how much you struggle with it.

During the exam, focus on solving the easier questions first and then move to the harder ones. If you get stuck on a certain problem, attempt other questions first and return to that problem later on.

7. Take a mock exam and practice past papers.

Past papers provide insight into what kind of questions can be expected and help you familiarize yourself with the question pattern.

Taking mock tests in a setting that imitates the actual exam setting helps you get used to the nerves of taking the exam, and you also learn how to better manage your time.

Both past papers and mock tests provide an overview of your progress.

8. Revise

Without revising, you risk forgetting most of what you had studied.

Make sure to revise at regular intervals.

With each revision, you understand the material better and retain information better.

9. Take a Break

Although preparing for any kind of exam can be mentally taxing, be sure to take breaks and give time to your hobbies.

Make sure you pay attention to your mental and physical health.
